Manage your subscription: Upgrades and downgrades
Genstore offers the flexibility to scale your plan up or down as your business grows. You can manage your subscription at any time directly from your Genstore admin under Settings -> Plan and credits.
View your current plan
- Log in to the Genstore admin.
- Go to Settings -> Plan and credits.
- Your current plan is shown in the Subscriptions section.
Upgrade your plan
Plan upgrades can be performed at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately and are billed on a prorated basis. After upgrading, you can immediately use the features provided by the new plan, and you will be compensated for the credit difference between the two plans.
- Eligibility: Only the store owner or staff with appropriate permissions can make plan changes. See Roles and permissions for more details.
- Plan Availability: You can only switch to plans currently offered by Genstore. Once changed, you cannot switch back to discontinued legacy plans. See our Pricing page for current options.
Steps to change your plan:
- Log in to the Genstore admin.
- Go to Settings -> Plan and credits.
- In the Subscription section, click Change plan.
- Choose your preferred plan and billing cycle.
- Click Subscribe to confirm the change.
Billing after changing plans
After upgrading, the system issues an invoice for the new plan and applies the remaining cost of your old plan as a deduction:
- Immediate billing: The system will immediately generate an invoice for the new plan.
- Instant activation: Features of the new plan will be enabled immediately.
- Prorated adjustment: The new plan cost is calculated based on the remaining days in the billing cycle.
- Prorated deduction: The unused portion of the old plan will generate an equivalent credit amount to offset the new plan cost.
- Credit compensation: The credit difference between the two plans will be immediately compensated.
Billing example
Suppose your current plan is $25/month (with 50 credits per month), with a billing cycle from July 1 to July 31. On July 11, you upgrade to a $75/month plan (with 200 credits per month), with 20 days remaining in the current billing period:
Original plan deduction calculation
Daily rate = $25 / 31 = $0.81
Credit amount = $0.81 × 20 = $16.20New plan cost calculation
Daily rate = $75 / 31 = $2.42
Amount due = ($2.42 × 20) = $48.40Final amount due
$48.40 - $16.20 = $32.20Credit compensation
200 - 50 = 150Therefore, you need to pay $32.20 for this plan change, and 150 credits will be immediately compensated after the upgrade.
Downgrade your plan
Plan downgrades do not take effect immediately and will not be charged immediately. Genstore will process the subscription downgrade in your next renewal cycle.
Billing example
Suppose your current plan is $75/month, with a billing cycle from July 1 to July 31. On July 11, you downgrade to a $25/month plan. You will retain the subscription benefits of the $75/month plan until your next renewal date (August 1), when your subscription will renew to the $25/month plan.
