Manage your Genstore plan
Genstore allows you to change your plan at any time. The system will automatically calculate the price difference and apply the changes immediately. You can manage your plan on the Settings -> Billing page in your Genstore admin.
View your current plan
- Log in to the Genstore admin.
- Go to Settings -> Billing.
- Your current plan is shown in the Subscription section.
Change your plan
You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately and are billed on a prorated basis. Once changed, you’ll instantly gain access to the features of your new plan.
- If your store is on a free trial, changing your plan will not shorten the trial period or affect your data.
- Only the store owner or staff with appropriate permissions can make plan changes. See Roles and permissions for more details.
- You can only switch to plans currently offered by Genstore. If you are using a legacy plan that is no longer available, you won’t be able to switch back after changing plans. See the Genstore pricing page for available plans.
Steps to change your plan:
- Log in to the Genstore admin.
- Go to Settings -> Billing.
- In the Subscription section, click Change plan.
- Choose your preferred plan and billing cycle.
- Select the plan and then click Subscribe to confirm the change.
Billing after changing plans
After changing your plan, the system will immediately generate a new invoice that includes only the cost of your new plan. Any unused portion of your previous plan will be applied as a credit balance.
- Immediate billing: A new invoice is generated as soon as the plan is changed.
- Instant activation: Features of the new plan become available right away.
- Prorated calculation: The new plan is billed based on the number of days remaining in the current billing cycle.
- Credit balance applied: The unused portion of the old plan is converted into a credit and deducted from the new plan’s cost.
Example: How prorated billing works
Suppose your current plan is $29/month, with a billing cycle from July 1 to July 31. On July 11, you upgrade to a $99/month plan. You have 20 days of unused service left.
Credit from current plan:
Daily rate = $29 / 31 = $0.94
Credit = $0.94 × 20 = $18.80
New plan prorated cost:
Daily rate = $99 / 31 = $3.19
Charge = $3.19 × 20 = $63.80
Final amount to pay:
$63.80 - $18.80 = $45.00
So, you’ll be charged $45 for this plan change.
Upgrade your plan during the free trial
If you change your plan while on a free trial:
- The trial period will not be shortened.
- You will not be billed immediately.
- The features of the new plan will be available right away.
- Your first invoice will be issued after the trial ends.
