Product recommendations
Product recommendations are an effective tool to enhance the customer shopping experience and increase sales. Through an intelligent recommendation system, merchants can showcase related or personalized products to customers, increasing product exposure and sales. This feature is especially effective on e-commerce platforms, significantly improving conversion rates and customer satisfaction.

Product recommendation methods
Product recommendations offer 10 methods, each configurable with its own display settings, recommendation rules, sorting options, and data filters.

Install and uninstall the app
- View the app: The product recommendation app is pre-installed in your store. You can view it directly in the installed apps list, with no additional setup required.
- Pin the app: In the apps list, find the product recommendation app and click the Pin button for quick access, enabling easier management and operation.
- Uninstall the app: If you no longer need the product recommendation app, you can remove it by clicking the Uninstall button in the app list. Note that uninstalling will clear the app’s configuration and data.
- Reinstall the app: If you need to reinstall the product recommendation app later, go to the Uninstalled section on the Apps page, find the app, and click to install. You’ll need to authorize user data, as the app will access store and personal information (including customer, store, and partner data) to ensure accurate and personalized recommendations.
Create product recommendations
The settings for different recommendation strategies are generally the same. This section explains how to create a product recommendation plan using Best-selling products as an example.
- Log in to the Genstore merchant admin and navigate to Apps. Find the product recommendation app in the installed apps list and click Launch app.
- Click Create recommendation, then choose the Product recommendation method (using best-selling products as an example).
- Enable the recommendation type: toggle the Status switch to activate the current recommendation method.
- In the theme editor, add the display configuration section and select the appropriate display location (e.g., product detail page, shopping cart). Navigate to Online Store -> Themes, click the Design button. Under Product -> Segment template section, click Add section. In the Apps tab, select Best-seller. Preview the result and save. Once configured, the best-selling product recommendation will appear on the corresponding C-end pages.
- [Optional] Recommendation settings, such as selecting both specific products and intelligent recommendations. Intelligent recommendations will have higher priority than merchant-specified products.
- Show selected products first: This will prioritize displaying selected products. Click Select products to configure recommended products.
- Enable smart recommendations: Products recommended by the system’s algorithm will be prioritized.
- [Required] Display configuration: Choose a display location, such as the product detail page, product list page, shopping cart, cart drawer page, or 404 page.
- [Required] Recommendation rules:
- Set the most popular products within the past N days: Default is 7 days; set the range (1–365 days).
- Product sorting method: Sort recommended products by sales or creation date. Different recommendation methods may have slightly different rules. You can configure them according to the page prompts.

Recommendation rules vary slightly by method. You can configure them based on the on-page guidance.
- [Optional] Filter settings:
- Display out-of-stock products in recommendations: Enable this option if you want to include out-of-stock products.
- Price: Set a price range for recommended products, specifying the price interval. The price should reflect the product’s sales price, up to four decimal places.
- Tags: Select product tags to include or exclude in the recommendations. Multiple tags can be selected.
- Stock quantity: Set stock limits for recommended products, specifying minimum and maximum inventory levels.
