Manual payment

Some customers prefer to complete their purchases using offline payment methods. By enabling manual payment options in your store, customers can place an order and pay later through an offline method. This gives more flexibility to those who do not want to use a credit card. You can offer different manual payment methods based on your store’s needs. This section covers common manual payment options.

TIP

  • Manual payments do not incur third-party transaction fees.
  • It’s recommended to confirm payment with customers promptly to ensure smooth order processing.

Cash on delivery (COD)

Cash on delivery allows customers to pay when they receive their order. This option is ideal for customers who prefer not to pay online.

  • Best for: Local deliveries or e-commerce stores serving customers without credit cards or those hesitant to use online payments.
  • Advantages: Customers can inspect the product before payment, reducing the risk of disputes.
  • Disadvantages: Higher risk of order refusal or non-payment, especially for large transactions.

Money order

A money order is a payment document issued by a bank or financial institution. The recipient can use it to collect funds from the designated payer. It is often used for large transactions.

  • Best for: Cross-city or international transactions, especially in regions with limited electronic payment options.
  • Advantages: High security, clear payment documentation, and suitable for large payments.
  • Disadvantages: Longer processing time, possible service fees, and less flexibility.

Bank transfer

A bank transfer is a direct funds transfer between bank accounts, either online or offline. It is commonly used for high-value transactions.

  • Best for: Business-to-business (B2B) transactions and large individual purchases, such as bill payments or expensive items.
  • Advantages: Secure and reliable, making it ideal for large payments.
  • Disadvantages: Requires accurate banking details to avoid delays or failed transactions, and processing time may be longer.

TIP

  • When customers place an order using manual payment, no third-party transaction fees apply.
  • Always confirm payment with the customer before processing the order.
