Manage AI Agent usage and costs

AI Agent replies in Inbox are typically triggered by your customers. Without limits in place, customers could interact with the AI Agent freely, which may lead to unexpected charges. To help you manage costs effectively, Genstore offers flexible usage control features.

Set usage limits for your Inbox AI Agent

In your Genstore admin panel, go to the Inbox section in the left-hand menu. Under the Usage panel, click Set usage limits to open the limit settings panel.

You can set usage caps across the following three dimensions to help manage your AI Agent's usage:

TIP

Your actual charges are based on the Monthly reply limit.
Daily and per-customer limits are for usage control only and do not affect your total cost.
The system calculates your usage fees based on monthly caps and actual reply count—no double counting.

What happens when limits are reached?

  • If a per-customer limit is reached: That customer’s further messages will be routed to a live agent. The limit resets the next day.
  • If the daily limit is reached: All AI replies are paused for the rest of the day, and new inquiries will be routed to a live agent. Resets the next day.
  • If the monthly limit is reached: All AI replies are paused until the next billing cycle begins. Messages are routed to a live agent.

Other reasons AI Agent replies may be paused

Even if your Inbox AI Agent hasn’t hit the usage limits above, it may still stop responding in the following situations:

  • Your monthly AI usage charges have reached $1,000
    To protect against excessive billing, AI Agent usage is temporarily paused until the next billing cycle.
  • There is an unpaid invoice on your store account
    Please go to the Billing section and complete the payment to resume AI Agent service.
