Multi-language support
Inbox supports internationalized display, allowing it to automatically present localized content based on a visitor's country or region. This effectively builds trust and boosts conversion rates for cross-border customers.
What content supports multi-language?
You can customize the following content in Inbox for customers in different markets:
| Module | Translatable content |
|---|---|
| Appearance settings | Welcome messages, chat entry guidance text |
| Quick replies | Offline replies, first responses, timeout replies, and other template content |
| FAQs | Title, body content, and category names for every FAQ article |
How to configure multi-language?
Multi-language configuration for Inbox is managed centrally through the Genstore Translate app.
Configuration steps:
- Go to Apps in the Genstore admin and open Genstore Translate.
- In the Translate to section at the top of the page, select your target language (e.g., Spanish).
- Find Inbox in the translation resource directory.
- Select the items to be translated, such as
Appearance(including auto-replies) orFAQs, and click to enter the content editor. - Choose the content module to translate in the sidebar (e.g.,
Welcome message). You can:- Manually enter the translation for the target language.
- Click Auto-translate to generate a draft, then manually proofread and refine it.
- Once translation is complete, you can click View store to check the saved translation effect. After confirming everything is correct, click Save.
Typical scenarios
- Precise conversion in niche markets: Display "¡Hola!" as a welcome message and provide localized return/exchange FAQs specifically for Spanish-speaking markets.
- Special layout support: For Middle Eastern markets (e.g., Saudi Arabia), the system supports RTL (Right-to-Left) layouts, perfectly adapting to Arabic.
- Multi-lingual mixed markets: In countries like Canada, the system will automatically switch between English and French based on the visitor's browser language preferences.
Important notes
- Independent maintenance: Each FAQ article is an individual resource and must be translated and saved one by one.
- Manual sync: When you modify content in the "Default language," other translated languages will not update automatically. Please ensure you manually update the translations for all corresponding language versions.
- Human proofreading: For core brand copy (such as welcome messages), we recommend human proofreading to avoid context errors or brand tone inconsistencies that can occur with machine translation.
- Publishing order: Ensure that you have saved and published your changes in Genstore Translate for them to sync to the storefront.
