Freeze/Unfreeze customers
When managing customers, you may need to freeze certain accounts due to fraudulent behavior or suspicious activity. Genstore provides tools for freezing and unfreezing customer accounts.
Freeze a customer
TIP
- Only activated accounts can be frozen. The freeze option is not available for inactive accounts.
- Frozen customers will no longer be able to log in to your store. Please proceed with caution.
To freeze a customer:
- Log in to your Genstore admin.
- Go to the Store -> Customers section and open the customer detail page.
- Click More actions and select Freeze account.
- Confirm the action in the pop-up by clicking Freeze account.
Once successful, the customer status will change to Freeze.
TIP
Freezing only affects the current account. Customers can still register a new account using a different email address.
Unfreeze a customer
To unfreeze a customer, you can resend an account activation invitation:
- Log in to your Genstore admin.
- Go to the Store -> Customers section and open the customer detail page.
- Click Send invitation.
Once the customer receives the email and completes password setup via the activation link, the account will be reactivated and login access will be restored.
