Manage subscription and deactivate store
As the store owner, you can manage your subscription status based on your business needs. Genstore offers two ways to stop billing: Cancel plan (retain access until expiry) and Deactivate store (immediately stop access).
Before deactivating your store or canceling your subscription, please make sure to read and understand the Terms of Service to ensure you're aware of the impact.
Cancel plan (maintain access until expiry)
If you don't want to renew after the current billing cycle ends but still need to operate your store until the expiration date, you can choose to cancel your plan.
TIP
After canceling your plan, your store will remain active, and you can continue to access the merchant admin and process orders until the end of the current plan period. After expiration, the store will automatically enter an inactive state.
Steps
- Log in to the Genstore admin.
- Go to Settings -> Plan and credits.
- In the Subscriptions section, click Cancel plan.
- In the popup, select a reason for cancellation, and optionally provide additional comments.
- Click Continue to confirm the cancellation.
Cancel plan and deactivate store
If you're sure you no longer need the store and want to stop services immediately, you can choose to deactivate your store.
TIP
Deactivating your store will immediately cancel your plan, and you will lose access to the merchant admin. To reactivate the store later, you’ll need to re-subscribe to a plan.
Steps to deactivate your store
- Log in to the Genstore admin.
- Go to Settings -> Plan and credits.
- In the Subscriptions section, click Deactivate store.
- In the popup, select a reason for closing, and optionally provide additional comments.
- Click Continue to confirm the deactivation.
After the store is deactivated, you can still access and download past invoices. Your store data—including sales, product, and customer information—will be retained for two years, allowing you to reactivate your store at any time.

Reactivate your store
If you decide to reopen your store, you can log in at any time and choose a plan to reactivate.
Steps to reactivate
- Log in to the Genstore admin and select your deactivated or expired store.
- Click Continue plan or Change plan.
- Complete the payment to reactivate your store.

The following restrictions mainly apply to the status after executing the "Deactivate store" operation.

TIP
Unique domain rule
When creating a store, the system assigns a default xxx.genmystore.com domain. You can customize it once in Genstore admin. However, whether it’s the default or a modified version, once the store is closed, the domain can no longer be used again.
Example:
If you close a store named Very Good Things with the URLvery-good-things.genmystore.com, you can still reuse the brand name when creating a new store, but you won’t be able to use the same domain.
Payments and billing
For Genstore Payments users
