Manage products

On the Genstore platform, you can sell physical goods, digital products, and gift cards. To better showcase and sell your products, you can add detailed product information and upload high-quality images.

• Physical products: Products with a physical form, visible, tangible, and transportable via logistics (e.g., clothing, electronics).
• Virtual products: Products that don’t require logistics for delivery, usually software or online services (e.g., email services, online subscriptions).
• Digital products: Products like music, movies, or other entertainment content that customers can download and use immediately after purchase (e.g., e-books, digital music).

Add products

Steps

1. Log in to the Genstore admin and go to the Products page.
2. Click Add product in the top right corner. Depending on your product type, choose Physical products or Digital products (which includes virtual products).
3. Fill in the product details. For more information on each configuration, see Add products.
4. After completing the product details, you can set the product status (draft or active), sales channels, markets, vendors, tags, and collection information.
5. Once you’re done, click Save to create the product.

Once created, the product will automatically appear in the product list, where you can manage it later by editing, previewing, copying, or deleting.

Duplicate product

You can quickly create a new product similar to an existing one by duplicating the details and making edits. This saves time and labor costs.

Steps

1. Log in to the Genstore admin and go to the Products page.
2. In the product list, click Duplicate in the action column.
3. A new product creation page will open, with “Copy” automatically added to the original title.
4. The product status will default to Draft.
5. The system will automatically fill in the other product details, which you can adjust as needed.
6. Click Save to finish creating the new product.

TIP

Note: The copied product will automatically be linked to the same market and sales channels. If you wish to adjust the sales channels, do so after copying and set the product status to Active.

Edit products

You can update a product’s price, inventory, description, and more at any time, ensuring your information is always accurate. Any changes you make will take effect immediately.

Steps

1. Log in to the Genstore admin and go to the Products page.
2. In the product list, click Edit in the Action column.
3. Update the product information as needed. For detailed instructions on each configuration, see Add products.
4. Click Save to finish editing.

Genstore also offers bulk editing. Check the boxes next to the products you want to edit, and click Bulk edit to update product names, subtitles, descriptions, categories, images, tags, collections, prices, and original prices in bulk.

Preview products

After saving a product, you can preview how it will appear in your online store in real time.

Steps

1. Log in to the Genstore admin and go to the Products page.
2. In the product list, click the Preview icon in the action column to open a new window and view the product’s display in your online store.
3. If the product is assigned to multiple markets, you can switch between them in the preview:
   • Active markets: See the actual storefront display.
   • Inactive markets: Preview how the product will look in that country/region before publishing.
4. At the bottom status bar, you can check the product status (such as draft or published), view the current theme name, and either exit preview or click Customize theme to open the theme editor for customization.

Limitations

• In preview mode, you can view how the product is displayed, but cannot place real orders.
• To test the full checkout process, exit preview mode and go to the storefront to perform a test order.

Bulk publish

For products in Draft status, Genstore offers a bulk publish feature.

Steps

1. Log in to the Genstore admin and go to the Products page.
2. Check the boxes next to the products you want to publish, then click Publish products to publish them all at once.

Bulk edit SKU prices

For products with multiple variants, Genstore supports bulk price editing.

1. Log in to the Genstore admin and go to the Products page.
2. Open the target product, select the SKUs you want to edit in the variant details table, and click Edit price.
3. Genstore provides two options:
   • Adjust price: Set a new price directly for the selected variants.
   • Adjust from current price: Increase or decrease by a fixed amount or percentage on the existing price. For example:
     • -5 → subtract $5 from each item’s current price
     • +15% → add 15% to each item’s current price

Delete product

You can delete individual products or bulk delete multiple products. Please note, once a product is deleted, this action cannot be undone.

Steps

1. Log in to the Genstore admin and go to the Products page.
2. In the product list, click Delete in the action column.
3. Alternatively, you can check the boxes next to products you want to delete, then use Bulk delete to remove up to 100 products at once.
