Set up storefront policies
To ensure your store operates smoothly—especially if you sell through sales channels like Facebook Ads and Google Ads—you must add the following information to your store:
- Return and refund policy
- Privacy policy
- Terms of service
- Shipping policy
- Contact information
These details are usually displayed in your website footer. To add them, you’ll first create the policy pages, then link them to your footer menu, and finally display the footer menu on your storefront.
Step 1 — Create policy pages (choose one method)
You can create policy pages in Genstore using one of the following methods:
Option 1: Use Genstore templates (recommended for standard policies)
- Go to Settings -> Policies.
- Click on each policy type, review and edit the content to fit your store needs.
- Click Confirm to save.
Option 2: Create custom pages
- Go to Online Store -> Pages -> Create page.
- Add a page title and paste your policy content into the Body content section.
- Apply any basic formatting as needed.
- Set the page as visible by clicking Visible under Visibility.
- Click Save.
Option 3: Create directly in Theme Editor (for fully customized design)
- Go to Online Store -> Themes. Click Design next to your current theme.
- In the Theme Editor, click Home page at the top, then select Pages -> Create theme (or choose an existing theme template).
- If you click Create theme, enter the template name and select a theme base. Click Confirm.
- Customize the page visually. You can preview changes live.
- When finished, click Save.
For more details on working with page templates, see Customize with Theme Editor – Page templates.
Step 2 — Link policy pages to the footer menu
After you create the pages, link them to your store’s footer menu:
- Go to Online Store -> Navigation.
- Click the edit icon next to the Footer menu.
- Click Add menu item.
- Enter the menu item name (this will appear in your storefront).
- Click
Search page
and select your policy page:- If you used Genstore templates, select the page under Policies.
- If you created a custom or Theme Editor page, select it under Pages.
- Click Save.
Step 3 — Display the footer menu in your storefront
To show the footer menu on your live store:
- Go to Online Store -> Themes. Click Design next to your current theme.
- Under the Footer section, click Add block -> Menu.
- Select the Footer menu you just updated.
- Click Save.
The policy pages will now appear in your storefront footer.
